Definitions

Holistic medicine is the science of healing that addresses the whole person as an interdependent unit of body, mind, and spirit. The practice of holistic medicine integrates conventional and alternative therapies to prevent and treat disease. It focuses on promoting optimal health through healthy nutritional changes and the use of natural and non-toxic substances.

Holistic medicine includes analysis of physical, nutritional, environmental, emotional, spiritual and lifestyle elements. In most patients, using this multi-modality approach, including natural alternatives to traditional pharmacologic choices, the causes and subsequently the symptoms of these diseases can be eradicated.
